Coimbatore: Eminent Author and Speaker, Chetan Bhagat today said that he would consider joining politics if his leadership and decision was not challenged by the party.

“Not yet (to join politics), I do not think politics is ultimate thing for changing the system,” Bhagat said replying to a specific question whether he would enter politics to change the game for the benefit of the country and society.

He was replying questions at an interactive session organised by Indian Women Network and local chapter of CII on “Changing Game”.

“Once you enter politics and become some thing, you have to please lot of people and lose friends, and the decision taken by me will not be liked or accepted by the party or some leaders,” he said.

“Moreover, I can not work hard and speak at long time as being done by the Prime Minister now,” Bhagat said.  When asked whether he expect politics can be a game changer, he said to a certain extent and Aam Admi Party has changed the game.

“The present government is good so far. One year is a critical period (for them) and if they don't do good, they will....” Bhagat said.

Bhagat, whose five books sales have crossed seven million, when asked about political power said, “I do not want power, money, position nor influence”.  When asked about allowing his book to be translated into Tamil, Bhagat said being good market, if my publishers get right translators, there would not be any problem.

Stating that his books were being translated into Hindi, Marathi and some other languages, Bhagat said that one of the books is being serialised in Malayalam by a leading daily, Malayala Manorama, soon.
