Raipur: Chhattisgarh Government has announced an assistance of Rs 10 crore for the flood-affected people in Jammu and Kashmir.
The aid will be released both in terms of cash and commodities after having discussions with the J&K Government, an official said here today.
The decision in this regard was taken during a meeting of senior officials chaired by Chief Minister Raman Singh at his official residence last evening.
Singh spoke to his J&K counterpart Omar Abdullah and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh about the situation in the northern state, battling with the natural calamity, and assured to extend every possible relief to the affected people there, the official said.
Singh has also decided to donate his one day's salary to help the victims of the flood-ravaged state and appealed his officers and employees to also donate their one-day payment to the the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, he said.
Besides, people who want to extend monetary help to the flood-hit victims can deposit their contribution in the form of cheque to the CM's relief fund in Chhattisgarh, he added.
