Hyderabad: TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu, YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and his mother Y S Vijayamma were among the high-profile candidates who filed their nominations today for the Legislative Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu's son N Lokesh filed the nomination on behalf of his father from Kuppam assembly seat in native Chittoor district in Rayalaseema region.
The TDP chief is away in Coastal Andhra campaigning in support of the party candidates.
Jaganmohan Reddy has submitted his papers for Pulivendula assembly segment, the YSR family stronghold in native Kadapa district, also in Rayalaseema.
Jaganmohan Reddy, who has been MP from Kadapa, is contesting assembly elections for the first time.
His mother Vijayamma, who represented Pulivendula in the outgoing Andhra Pradesh Assembly, filed her nomination papers for Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency.
Polling for Lok Sabha and undivided Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly would be held in Seemandhra on May 7.
The last date for filing nominations in Seemandhra is April 19.
