Rajahmundry (AP): Inmates in Central jail who went on a hunger strike today called off the strike after the district administration assured them to review their demands, a senior official said.
Around 400 inmates of Central jail refused to eat breakfast this morning and went on hunger strike demanding better food and medical for them, East Godavari district sub-collector B Radhakrishna said. The inmates also demanded an immediate transfer of jail superintendent N Nutan.
