Answer books for these subjects were scanned and uploaded centrally and then downloaded at the evaluation centres online. No question is left unassessed under the system.

According to the CBSE statement, the past practice of applying for verification of grades at designated schools in case of regional office Delhi and respective regional offices (in other cases) has been done away with.

The applications for verification of marks will now be received online only.

The number of attempts for improvement of performance for Class X has been reduced to one from 2013 examination.

Candidates shall appear for the improvement of performance by July. However, for candidates who have appeared in  the 2012 examination and placed in the category 'improvement of performance' shall get upto five chances.

The first chance for improvement of performance test under scheme II (those who took CBSE's external examinations) will commence from July 16.

CBSE had three years ago introduced a new system under which there was no board examination for students studying in schools affiliated to the board and those who do not wish to move out of the CBSE system after Class X.

Students under this scheme are put through the school-based 'continuous and comprehensive evaluation' programme.

However, those who intend to move out of the CBSE system are required to take the board examination.

In its statement today, CBSE also announced the second phase of CBSE tele-counselling started from today and will continue up to June 10.
