Hyderabad, May 25: CBI sleuths today interrogated YSR Congress president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy at the CBI guest house here, as a large number of supporters gathered to watch their leader.
A tight security blanket was thrown by Hyderabad police as YSJ drove to the Dilkusha Guest House adjacent to the Raj Bhavan for interrogation.
He was accompanied by Congress MP Sabbam Hari, ruling party MLA A. K. Srinivas and Central Governing Council Member of YSR Congress Bhuma Nagi Reddy.
Prohibitory orders under Sec. 144 were clamped in Hyderabad and several other cities of the state to stop YSJ's supproters from creating disturbance.
Jagan was seen off at his residence by his mother, Vijayamma, who is honorary president of YSR Congress, family members and close aides.
Dozens of party followers tried to obstruct the convoy of YSJ as it left his house.
The question now is whether YSJ, number one accused in the assets case, would be arrested by the CBI because three other accused in the case, including Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao have already been arrested.
The CBI court had rejected his ad interim bail application on Thursday. Jagan is scheduled to appear before the CBI Court on May 28.
Meanwhile, former Rajya Sabha member M. V. Mysura Reddy was suspended from the Telugu Desam Party, minutes after he had a breakfast meeting with Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy, signalling his entry into the YSR Congress.
Dr. Mysura Reddy told reporters that Mr. Jagan was growing politically and elders like should bless him.
The ex-Rajya Sabha member has been unhappy with the Telugu Desam after being denied re-nomination to the Upper House.
He is the same peron who had contested and lost against Jagan in the bye-election to the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat last year.
