Jaipur (Rajasthan):  A case was registered on Friday against Dera Saccha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan and his two aides for allegedly abducting a woman who had gone to his Sirsa ashram to attend the satsang, police said.

The case was registered with Jawahar circle police station in Jaipur following a local court direction on a complaint by the woman's husband Kamlesh Kumar on Thursday.

Mr Kumar said in the complaint that his wife Guddi Devi (25), was "in touch with the Dera's managing director DPS Datta" for few days and Mr Datta had allegedly invited her to attend a satsang.

Initially, Mr Kumar refused to go, but when his wife insisted, he accompanied her to Sirsa, police said.

"We went to Sirsa on March 24 by train. For the next 4 days, my wife attended the satsang in a woman's group, and met me only once on March 28. Next day on March 29, one of the Sevadars told me that my wife was in deep meditation," Mr Kumar said in his complaint.

"Since then", the police said, "Mr Kumar could not met his wife, so he lodged the complaint."

The complaint was registered against the Dera chief, Mr Datta, and one aide Satnam Singh under various sections of IPC-365 (kidnapping or abducting), 344 (wrongful confinement for ten or more days), 346 (wrongful confinement in secret) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).
