Guwahati: Burdwan blast case accused Sahanur Alom's wife Sujana Begam was arrested from the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) here, police said today.

Guwahati city police had information about Suhana's movements and tracked her to the ISBT in the Gorchuk area where they arrested her last night, Superintendent of Police (Operations) City Sudhakar Singh said.

Sujana, wanted in the Special Operation Unit (SOU) case number 1/14, was handed over to the SOU for further action, Singh said.

She was with her minor son when police nabbed her, he added.

Sahanur Alom alias Doctor hailing from Chatala village Barpeta district in Assam is an accused in the Burdwan blast in West Bengal on October 2 in which two persons were killed.

Alom is absconding and NIA has recently declared a Rs 5 lakh reward for anyone giving information leading to his arrest.

Alom, seventh son of retired teacher Mazibar Rahman of the village, along with about 100 unknown people had offered Namaz in a house there on the day before last Eid, local people claimed.

Six days after Eid, Sahanur along with his wife Sujana Begum and his son had been missing, villagers said.

According to senior police officials, one of Sahanur's brother Jakaria was arrested a few days ago by NIA for his alleged involvement with the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).

An NIA team had searched Sahanur's house in Barpeta district early this week and seized some materials, including some illegal documents, Arabian coins, bank passbooks and some money collection receipt books of Talimul Madrassa in West Bengal.
