New Delhi: BSF today foiled an infiltration bid along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir amid a brief exchange of fire between troops on the two sides. Official sources said Border Security Force (BSF) troops spotted two armed infiltrators along the Arnia sector in Jammu after early today after which the security personnel fired at them.
“In retaliation, the Rangers fired a volley of bullets at the BSF border post in Pittal in the said sector. The infiltrators subsequently retreated,” they said. The force has stepped up security along the IB in the state, deploying close to 1,200 additional personnel there in view of US President Barack Obama's visit to India later this week.
