    Sebi slaps Rs 35 lakh fine on 7 entities for indulging in non-genuine trades

    Capital market regulator Sebi has imposed fines totalling Rs 35 lakh on seven entities for indulging in non-genuine trades in the illiquid stock options segment on the BSE. In seven separate orders on Monday, the regulator slapped a fine of Rs 5 lakh each on Subhash Kumar Poddar HUF, Manoj Kumar Goenka HUF, Ayan Akhter Husain, Ankita Didwania, Rakesh Golechha, Ankur Taneja HUF and Yogesh Kumar Gupta HUF.

    Domestic air passenger traffic rises about 23 pc to 1.24 crore in August: Icra

    India's domestic air passenger traffic rose about 23 per cent year-on-year to 1.24 crore in August and was 6 per cent higher than the pre-Covid level (August 2019) of around 1.18 crore, credit rating agency Icra said on Thursday. On a sequential basis, the growth in traffic during the previous month was around 3.2  per cent, with 1.21 crore passengers flying on domestic routes in July, it added.

    Rains in UP: Red alert in six districts

    A red alert for likely heavy showers was issued in six districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Barabanki and Gonda that have been the worst hit by the latest spell of rainfall that claimed 19 lives in the state on Monday. A senior official said that in the past 48 hours, more than 100 mm of rainfall was recorded in seven districts of the state and 10 other districts recorded 50 mm of rain. Certain parts of Bahraich and Barabanki have received over 250 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours.
