    Police find mobile network jammer in Delhi's Palika Bazaar

    Delhi Police has seized a mobile network jammer from Palika Bazaar in the national capital amid a checking ahead of Diwali, officials on Sunday said.

    "Our teams are verifying all shops, hotels and other public places ahead of the festive season. During a special check, a team found a suspicious object in a market," Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Devesh Kumar Mahla said. The device, which is acting like a mobile network jamming device, was immediately seized, he said.

    Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday said peace can be established in West Bengal only when cross-border infiltration from Bangladesh stops. He claimed that illegal immigration from the neighbouring country would be stopped if the BJP came to power in West Bengal in 2026.

    Police seize Rs 1.32 cr in south Mumbai ahead of polls, five detained

    The police have seized Rs 1.32 crore cash from five persons in south Mumbai amid the election code of conduct in place for the Maharashtra assembly polls, an official said on Sunday.

    According to the police, they received information that five persons were carrying bags with cash at Bhoiwada in Bhuleshwar Bazaar on Saturday, and a trap was laid.

    The official said a flying squad deployed by the Election Commission and police brought the five suspects to VP Road police station for further action after the seizure was videographed.

    4-year-old killed by aunt, 'tantrik' performing 'black magic' in Bareilly

    A four-year-old girl was allegedly killed by her aunt and a 'tantrik' as part of "black magic" rituals here in a village. The duo has been arrested, officials said on Sunday. Acting on a missing person's report filed by the girl's family, police found her body from the aunt's residence, they said.

    On Saturday, Misty went missing from her home in Shikarpur Chaudhary village, following which, her family filed a complaint at Izzat Nagar police station. The activities of Savitri, the aunt, were found to be "suspicious" when she refused to allow anyone to enter her home, police said, adding that they took the help of CCTV footage of the area.

    9 persons injured in stampede at Mumbai's Bandra railway station

    Nine persons were injured in a stampede after rush for boarding a train at Bandra railway station in Mumbai on Sunday morning, a civic official said.

    The incident took place at 5.56 am on platform number one at the Bandra Terminus. There was rush for boarding train 22921 Bandra-Gorakhpur Express, the official from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation said.

    Two cadres of banned PLA held in Manipur, arms recovered

    Two cadres of the proscribed outfit People's Liberation Army were arrested in Manipur's Tengnoupal district, police said on Sunday. They were held by a team of Assam Rifles from the vicinity of border pillar number 87 on Saturday and handed over to the police, an official statement said. The two have been identified as N Priyo Singh (21) and S Devjit Singh (21) and handed over to Pallel Police Station, it added.

    Two killed in road crash in UP

    Two persons were killed while a woman was injured in a road accident here, police said on Sunday. Pipri's Circle Officer Amit Kumar said that a car going from Renukut to Anpara and a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction collided near village Karhiya on Saturday evening.

    While motorcyclists Mahesh (19) and Ramnarayan (20), both residents of Chakelwa police station Anpara, died on the spot, a woman travelling in the car was injured.

    In an intelligence-led operation, Punjab Police busts a cross-border smuggling racket and apprehends two associates of Foreign-based drug smuggler Navpreet Singh @ Nav Bhullar and recovers 105 Kg Heroin, 31.93 Kg Caffeine Anhydrous, 17 Kg DMR, 5 foreign made Pistols & 1 Desi Katta. Water-route was used to transport drugs from Pakistan, big rubber tubes of tyres have also been recovered, indicating that narcotic contraband have been smuggled through waterway.  Navjot Singh & Lovepreet Kumar have been arrested.   FIR registered at PS State Special Operations Cell (#SSOC), Amritsar.     Gym trainer kills woman, buries body near DM house, arrested

    A gym trainer killed a woman and buried his body near the District Magistrate's house. After 4 months, the police managed to arrest the accused and recover the body.
