Hitting out at the ruling TDP-led NDA government in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress Party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday alleged that it is the "mafia era" that is going on in the state. He also claimed that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) did not give a clean chit to Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the Rs 371-crore Skill Development Corporation Scam case. Addressing mediapersons here, the YSRCP chief alleged that "taxes" are being paid to MLAs and CM Naidu for doing business or mining in the state.

Abbas Ansari, the son of Mukhtar Ansari, has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in a money laundering case. The court also granted him bail in connection with an incident involving the possession of illegal mobile phones in Chitrakoot Jail. The Supreme Court's decision comes after Abbas Ansari sought bail in two separate cases, emphasizing the need for him to cooperate with the ongoing investigations. However, he will remain in custody due to pending charges related to the Gangster Act.

The Bharatiya Janata Part (BJP) has on Friday sealed a deal with All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal United (JDU) and Chirag Paswan. As per the seat sharing formula, the BJP will contest in 68 seats, AJSU 10, JDU 2 and LJP-RV 1 in Jharkhand.

The Supreme Court on Friday lifted the stay imposed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on the proceedings against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in connection with the 2015 sacrilege case of Guru Granth Sahib desecration. The case, which was set aside by the Supreme Court in March, now moves forward after the apex court’s decision.

A fire broke out in a house in Delhi’s Shahdara area early in the morning. According to the fire department, a call was received at 5:24 AM reporting the incident. Six fire engines were dispatched to the scene to control the blaze, which had engulfed the third and fourth floors of the building.

Mumbai Traffic Police last night received a death threat, allegedly from a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, demanding Rs 5 crore to 'end the enmity' between the gangsters and Bollywood actor Salman Khan. According to preliminary information received, a threat has been sent to the Traffic Division of Mumbai Police on WhatsApp by someone with the name Lawrence Bishnoi Gang for Salman Khan in which the person has demanded Rs 5 crore to hush up this entire matter.

Citing that "Israel has every right to eliminate the leadership and military structure of Hamas," US President Joe Biden on Thursday (October 17) extended unconditional support to Israel after it confirmed the killing of the top Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar.

In a statement released soon after the Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed the death of Hamas' highest-ranking figure, Biden stated that Sinwar's death, should be seen as a good day for Israel, the United States, and the world.

The nomination process for 43 assembly constituencies in Jharkhand, for which the first phase of polling is scheduled to be held on November 13, will begin on Friday. Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar said, "Candidates can submit their nomination papers between 11 a.m. and 3 pm until October 25." Nominations will be reviewed on October 28th, and the deadline for withdrawals is October 30th.
