    UP: Man gets 20-years in jail for raping minor mentally challenged girl

    A special POCSO court here on Tuesday sentenced a person to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a 13-year-old mentally challenged girl. Additional District Judge (POCSO) Madhu Dogra on Tuesday held Satish Rajbhar alias Chhotu guilty of the crime and slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 on him, Special Public Prosecutor Ashwini Kumar Mishra (POCSO) said. The court said the entire amount recovered from the fine should be given to the parents of the mentally challenged girl.

    Acting swiftly on the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) directions to bring the culprits to book expeditiously, the NIA has launched thorough investigations into three major cases relating to the recent spate of violence in Manipur, an official statement issued on Tuesday said. With a view to unearthing the larger conspiracy behind the brutal attacks, the anti-terror agency re-registered three cases afresh on November 13 after the MHA decided to hand over the investigations to the NIA considering the gravity of the offences and the escalating violence in the strife-torn state, the statement said.

    Meerut man beaten, urinated on camera last year, dies

    A 23-year-old man, who was allegedly thrashed and urinated on by some people in Meerut last year, died on Tuesday after having a drinking session with his friends at a hotel, police said. A video surfaced on social media last year where Ritik was seen being thrashed and urinated on by some people.     Jewellery approximately worth Rs 1 crore was stolen from a shop Delhi's Kotwali Police Station area a few days ago. The police arrested the shop owners servant and recovered all the ornaments.

    "An person who had been working for one jeweller for 10 years went to the shop of another jeweller and claimed his boss needed some jewellery. The second jeweller handed over 30 necklaces and 112 rings, but instead of delivering them, the employee fled with the ornaments.
