Tamil Nadu has made it mandatory for overseas and domestic passengers, except those from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and the neighbouring Puducherry union territory to have an e-pass to be allowed entry into the state.

The water supply in the national capital will be affected on March 8-9, the Delhi Jal Board said on Sunday.  According to the DJB, water supply in villages of Bawana, Sultanpur Dabas, Pooth Khurd, Barwala, Majra Dabas, Chandpur, area under ward 35 Kanjhawala, ward 36 Rani Khera, and adjoining areas will take a hit.

It said that the water supply will be affected from March 8 to March 9 in Ravinder Rang Shala, CRPC Complex, Police Wireless, Old Rajinder Nagar, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, and WEA areas. 

The East Coast Railway (ECoR) said that it has not increased the price of platform tickets in any station in its jurisdiction.

A 28-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district, police said. The victim had gone to relieve herself in the fields when she was sexually assaulted, they said.

The incident took place in a village under the Thana Bhavan police station area on Saturday, police said. A case under IPC section 376 (rape) has been registered against the accused, Station House Officer Parbhakar Katara said, adding he is absconding.

Two brothers were killed and two others injured when a speeding car dashed into a tree in the Raniganj area here, police said on Sunday.

The incident took place on Saturday night near Tandva village when a car rammed into a tree after the driver lost the control over the vehicle, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Raniganj, Atul Anjan Tripathi said.

Two brothers Pawan Saini (42) and Sahil Saini (45) died on the spot, he said.

Two others Vijay Shukla (28) and RN Singh (25) were injured in the incident. They were rushed to a hospital where their condition is stated to be stable, Tripathi said.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said.

Four shops were gutted in a fire in a shopping complex in Maharashtra''s Thane city early Sunday morning, a civic official said. No casualty was reported, he said.

The fire broke out in the shopping complex located in Noopur building at Lokpuram in Pawar Nagar area around 5 am, Thane Municipal Corporation''s Regional Disaster Management Cell (RDMC) chief Santosh Kadam said.

Four shops, including a mini supermarket, a stationery store and a boutique, were completely destroyed in the blaze.
