    Security guard kills self in northwest Delhi

     A 24-year-old security guard allegedly killed himself at a hotel room in northwest Delhi's Adarsh Nagar area, police said on Wednesday. It is suspected that he inhaled some poisonous gas to put an end to his life, they said. The deceased has been identified as Nitesh Kumar, a resident of Malikpur Village in Model Town, police said.

    Centre approves proposal to transform plastic waste into flower pots in Bengal's hills

    The Union government has approved a project proposal to recycle waste accumulated in dumping yards of two hill towns of Darjeeling and Kalimpong in West Bengal into utility products such as bricks and flower pots. Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, in a statement on Tuesday, said the project seeks to mechanise the landfills with advanced technologies such as segregation of legacy (accumulated) waste, recycling of plastic waste, utilisation of construction and demolition waste and processing of biodegradable waste.

    Indian airports' revenues to rise to USD 3.9 bn next fiscal year

    Indian airport operators are projected to report 26 per cent rise in revenues at USD 3.9 billion in the next financial year, aviation consultancy CAPA India said on Wednesday. 
    For 2023-24, air passenger traffic, including domestic and international, is expected to be 395 million, it said while presenting the outlook for the airports.

    2.8 magnitude earthquake hits Himachal, no damage reported

    A mild intensity earthquake of magnitude 2.8 -- with its epicentre in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur -- hit the state at 12:51 am on Wednesday, but no damage was reported, officials said.  Earlier, tremors were felt in almost all parts of the state around 10:17 on Tuesday night following a 6.6 magnitude earthquake whose epicentre was in Afghanistan's Hindu Kush area at a depth of 156 km.
