The Karnataka government expects over Rs 5 lakh crore investment during the Global Investors Meet 2022 to be held next month in Bengaluru, state's large and medium industries minister Murugesh R Nirani said on Tuesday. The global investors meet is scheduled on November 2-4 after a hiatus of six years.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress MLA Manik Bhattacharya in the early hours of Tuesday after night-long questioning in connection with alleged irregularities in the recruitment of primary teachers, officials said.

The coronation of Britain’s King Charles III will take place at Westminster Abbey in London on May 6 next year, Buckingham Palace announced on Tuesday. The 73-year-old monarch, who acceded to the throne on the passing of his mother Queen Elizabeth II last month, will be officially bestowed with his crown and royal paraphernalia at the coronation ceremony to be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. A court in Maharashtra's Jalna district on Tuesday sentenced a 30-year-old man to life imprisonment for beating his mother to death. District and session court judge V M Mohite convicted Sakhram Yadaji Shinde of charges under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code and sentenced him to life imprisonment.

Two men have been arrested and two juveniles apprehended for allegedly killing a 23-year-old person in south Delhi's Neb Sarai area, police said on Tuesday. The accused have been identified as Ajay (20) and Aamir (18), both residents of Sangam Vihar here, they said.

Twenty-five people were arrested after a mob attacked the house of a man who allegedly posted communally sensitive remarks on social media, police said Tuesday. Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar said the violence erupted the previous night at Khargupur hamlet but it was under control now. A police team has been deployed to maintain peace, he said.

The Maharashtra government on Tuesday agreed to transfer the investigation 2020 Palghar mob lynching case to the CBI. In an affidavit, Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government said that it is ready and willing to hand over the investigation to the CBI and would have no objection to the same.
