    Gurugram: Man killed, 2 injured as 'intoxicated' youth performs car stunts

    A man was killed and two injured as they were knocked down by a person who was performing stunts with his car allegedly under the influence of alcohol in Udyog Vihar Phase-4 here, police said on Sunday. CCTV cameras showed around 10-12 youths performing stunts using three cars -- a Maruti Ertiga, a Hyundai Venue and a Hyundai Creta -- in front of a liquor outlet at around 2 am, they said.

    Five killed in separate road accidents in Chhattisgarh

    Five persons were killed in separate road accidents in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi and Mahasamund districts of Chhattisgarh, police said on Monday. Three persons died after their motorcycle rammed into a stationary container vehicle on Kotmi Road, under Pendra police station limits in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, on Sunday night, an official said. The accident took place around 110 km from Korba district, it was stated.

    CID probe ordered into death of Dalit leader

    The Karnataka government has ordered a CID investigation into the death of Dalit activist P Deekaiah, official sources said. Deekaiah was found unconscious with head injuries in his house in Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada district on July 6, when other occupants were away. He was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru where he died on July 8.

    Iraq: Fire, building collapse injures 28 people in Baghdad

    More than two dozen people were injured, including the head of Iraq's civil defence directorate, when a commercial building in the capital caught fire and then collapsed Sunday, authorities and the state news agency reported. The official Iraqi News Agency said the civil defence director, Maj. Gen. Kadhim Bohan, and some firefighters were were among those injured when the burning building collapsed.
