Delhi Police personnel have ended their day-long protest after assurances from senior officials. Minutes ago, Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik too appealed the agitating cops to abandon protest.
The agitating cops are now stressing on a written assurance on fulfillment of the demands raised by them. "We will only leave the protest site when we are given an assurance in written."
Even after assurances, the agitating cops are not moving from the protest site at ITO. Senior police officials are continuously requesting cops to return to their homes.
Devesh Srivastava, Joint Commissioner of Police (South): "We are looking into all your justified demands very seriously. Things are being worked out. Our sympathy is with all of you gathered here. Now please return to your homes, join your duties."
The agitating cops who were in no mood to budge earlier, are now cheering on the announcement by senior Delhi Police officials.
Senior Delhi Police officials have assured the agitating cops that all their demands will be met. An appeal was also made to withdraw the protest. A senior police official assured cops that the demand is being looked into by top authorities. The protesters have been asked to end their protest.

A revenue department official was arrested on Tuesday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 in Rajasthan's Barmer district, officials said. The revenue official (Patwari), identified as Govind Ram, had demanded Rs 40,000 as bribe from two men - Parasmal and Dungar Singh - for mutation of agriculture land.
After they lodged a complaint, an ACB team trapped Ram on Tuesday while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. The accused had already taken Rs 25,000 earlier. The accused has been placed under arrest under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Deputy SP, ACB Annraj said.

The protest follows incident at the Tis Hazari court and the Saket court on Monday. Kids of Police personnel also accompanied them in the protest. Earlier, an SIT formed to investigate the cops-lawyer scuffle at the Tis Hazari Court complex, reportedly found that the police firing was done to protect the DCP from lawyers. Police had to fire in the air to disperse the agitated lawyers on Saturday, giving the whole incident an ugly turn.
An Overground Worker (OGW) of Hizbul Mujahideen was arrested after security forces unearthed a hideout in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Tuesday.
A cache of arms and ammunition including a Pakistan-make 7.63 mm pistol with a magazine and a Chinese grenade were recovered from the hideout unearthed during a joint search operation by Rashtriya Rifles and police in Sangram Bhatta area of the district on Monday, the official said.
Authorities in neighbouring Shamli district have imposed a fine of Rs 2,500 each on 29 farmers for allegedly burning crop residue in their fields, officials said on Tuesday.

With a two-thirds majority, parliament on Monday approved a decree by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to extend the state of emergency, Efe news reported citing state-run MENA news agency as saying.

The United States is in talks with both Russia and China on a major arms control-like agreement, US President Donald Trump has said.

A man allegedly involved in looting trucks was taken into custody after he got injured in an exchange of fire with police in Greater Noida on Monday night, officials said. The gunfight took place around 8 pm in Omincron 1 area, under Site 5 police station limits, during which another accused managed to flee the spot, a police official said.
"The local police were tipped off about the movement of these suspects involved in loots on trucks in the area after which the motorcycle-borne duo was intercepted by a police team but they opened fire," Greater Noida-2 Circle Officer Shraddha Pandey said.
