    COVID-19: Covovax to get approval as booster in 10-15 days, says SII CEO Adar Poonawalla

    Serum Institute of India chief executive officer Adar Poonawalla on Sunday said its Covovax vaccine will get approval as a booster in the next 10 to 15 days, adding it works very well against the Omicron variant of coronavirus. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event at Bharti Vidyapeeth University here, Poonawalla, when asked about states and districts not getting Covishield vaccines, said there are ample stocks with the Union government for supply.

    Maharashtra logs 20 fresh coronavirus cases, zero fatality; active tally at 125

    Maharashtra on Sunday recorded 20 fresh cases of coronavirus that raised the tally of infections to 81,36,811, an official from the state health department said. With 32 patients recovering during the day, the count of recoveries reached 79,88,268, while the toll remained unchanged at 1,48,418, he said.

    A section of serving and retired pilots have strongly criticised the de-rostering of the captain and the crew of a New York-Delhi flight in which a male flier urinated on a female co-passenger in a drunken state. On Saturday, Air India’s CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson issued a statement in which he said that four cabin crew and one pilot have been issued show cause notices and de-rostered pending investigation.

    Maharashtra: 3 dead, 4 injured as Gujarat-bound car hits truck in Palghar

    Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway in Maharashtra's Palghar district on Sunday, a police official said.     Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has said speedy action will be taken in the case where a man allegedly urinated on a woman co-passenger on a New York-Mumbai flight last November. Delhi Police on Saturday arrested the 34-year-old accused, Shankar Mishra.
