    NHRC issues notice to Bihar govt over report on schoolchildren falling ill after consuming mid-day meal

     The NHRC on Thursday said it has issued a notice to the Bihar government over reports that about 150 students of a school in West Champaran district fell ill after consuming the mid-day meal.
    Apparently, there was a supervisory lapse on the part of the school authorities due to which food prepared in an unhygienic way was served to the students, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) said in a statement.

    Mumbai: Abducted 5-year-old girl found, police looking for culprit

    A five-year-old girl abducted by an unidentified person from suburban Mankhurd area was reunited with her mother within 36 hours of the incident, city police said on Thursday.
    The girl's uncle had approached police with a complaint that she had been abducted from her mother's custody, said an official.

    Ex-minister murder case: YSRCP MP Avinash Reddy arrested by CBI, released

     YSR Congress MP Y S Avinash Reddy was arrested by the CBI in connection with the murder of his uncle and former minister Y S Vivekananda Reddy, but he was immediately released as per a Telangana High Court order that had earlier granted him anticipatory bail.

    Avinash Reddy, who appeared before the central agency on June 3, was arrested by the CBI and released on bail the same day after fulfilling certain formalities, sources said.

    Phogat's tweet came days after the 'minor', whose complaint had formed basis of FIR against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh under the POCSO Act withdrew her sexual harassment allegations against the outgoing WFI president.
    "Will the daughters get justice in the atmosphere of fear and intimidation???" Vinesh wrote on her Twitter handle.

    Lok Sabha MPs Poonam Mahajan (from Mumbai), Parvesh Sahib Singh (Delhi) and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore (Rajasthan) penned a nine-page letter, wondering if he was running "mohabbat ki dukan ya nafrat ka mega mall" (shop of love or mega mall of hate).

    Light rain expected in Delhi on Friday

    Delhi is likely to witness light rain and generally cloudy skies on June 9, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a bulletin on Thursday.
    The maximum temperature in the city settled at 39.9 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 23.9 degrees Celsius, four notches below the season's average, the IMD said in a bulletin.
