    US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrives in Saudi Arabia to meet Crown Prince Mohammed

    US Secretary of State Antony Blinken arrived Tuesday in Saudi Arabia on a trip in which he plans to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman amid strained relations between Riyadh and Washington.
    Blinken's trip, his second to Saudi Arabia since becoming America's top diplomat, comes after the kingdom under Prince Mohammed has been more willing to disregard the U.S. in striking its own decisions. Riyadh has clashed repeatedly with President Joe Biden on its supply of crude oil to global markets, its willingness to partner with Russia in OPEC+ and reaching a détente with Iran mediated by China. Biden also pledged to make Saudi Arabia a “pariah” over the 2018 killing of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

    Anurag Thakur assures of fair investigation into wrestlers' allegations

    Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Tuesday said fair investigation will be conducted into the allegations of sexual harassment levelled by women wrestlers against Wrestling Federation of India chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

    Thakur was here to participate in the convocation of the Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education.
    Asked about the ongoing protest by the wrestlers who are seeking Singh's arrest, the minister said he had already stated that sports and sportspersons were a priority for the government.

    Delhi Assembly panel summons IAS officer Ashish More over land-related complaint

     The Petitions Committee of Delhi Assembly has summoned IAS officer Ashish More, who was recently removed from the post of services secretary by the AAP dispensation, on Wednesday in connection with a land-related complaint.
    The Committee has also requested the chief secretary of the Delhi government and the divisional commissioner to be present in the sitting, an official statement said.

    Court sentences man to 5 years imprisonment in corruption case

    A special (Prevention of Corruption Act) court in Aizawl sentenced a 45-year-old man to five years imprisonment in a corruption case. The special court also slapped a fine of Rs 20 lakh on Mustaqur Rahman, the co-accused in the corruption case involving Rs 268 lakh in a public sector firm.

    Maharashtra: 3 arrested for cheating businessman of Rs 12 lakh

    The Thane police have arrested three persons for allegedly cheating a businessman from Sawantwadi in Maharashtra of Rs 12 lakh by promising to get his money doubled quickly, an official said on Tuesday. Four persons called the victim from Sawantwadi in Ratnagir district to Bhiwandi in Thane on May 29 with Rs 12 lakh in cash, senior police inspector Sachin Gaikwad said.
