Police on Thursday recovered bundles of burnt currency notes of Rs 500 denomination, admit cards and OMR sheets of various competitive exams from a room of the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH)'s Chanakya hostel, officials said. A minor fire had broken out in a room at the Chanakya hostel late on Tuesday, though casualties or injuries were reported, police said.

A man killed a money lender at a village here to avoid repaying a loan of Rs 60,000, police said on Thursday. The incident took place in Noorpur Chhipri village in Sherkot, a police officer said. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Dharam Singh Marchhal said Tajendra, a resident of the village, filed a missing complaint for his brother Promod (30) on Wednesday.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha on Thursday slammed the Centre, accusing it of ignoring the ongoing fast-unto-death of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal and asked it to hold talks with the protesting farmers. In a 'Kisan Mahapanchayat' at Moga in Punjab, the SKM said the draft of the National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing (NPFAM) announced by the Union government is "a dangerous form of re-enforcing the now-repealed three farm laws".

Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal has called for the immediate suspension and transfer of the District Election Officer in addition to his complaint against Parvesh Verma. Kejriwal claimed that the officer's actions are compromising the fairness of the election process.

Arvind Kejriwal lodged a complaint with the Chief Election Commissioner against Parvesh Verma, alleging violations of the election code of conduct. Kejriwal demanded an immediate raid at Verma's residence and accused him of distributing Rs 1100 to women. He also raised concerns about Verma making false promises of jobs in exchange for votes.

The Bombay High Court dismissed a petition by the Thackeray group, led by Sunil Modi, challenging the withdrawal of a list of 12 MLCs nominated by the then Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari. The Maha Vikas Aghadi government had submitted the list on November 6, 2020, but it was withdrawn on September 5, 2022. The Mahayuti government defended the withdrawal, stating it was legally done in a cabinet meeting, while the Thackeray group argued it was wrong due to the lack of explanation for the decision.
