    Samajwadi Party leader and sitting MLA from Gainsari assembly constituency in UP's Balrampur district Dr Shiv Pratap Yadav died at Medanta Hospital in Haryana's Gurugram on Friday, family sources said.
    He was 74. Several state leaders, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, paid their tributes to Yadav who had been a minister twice in SP governments.

    Thirty-six people, including para archer and Arjuna Awardee Sheetal Devi, were selected for government awards in Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Republic Day.     CRPF contingent: More than 200 women personnel march down Kartavya Path

    More than 200 women personnel of the CRPF -- largest para-military force in the world -- marched down the Kartavya Path in the 75th Republic Day parade. The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has the distinction of raising one of the first women band contingents. Constable Sosa Alpaben led the CRPF band consisting of 100 women personnel and it was playing 'Desh Ke Hum Hai Rakshak.

    The indigenously developed weapon locating radar system "Swathi", the "Sarvatra" mobile bridging system, the drone jammer system and the advanced radio frequency monitoring system featured in the Republic Day parade here on Friday.
