    11-year-old boy killed, sister injured in wall collapse in J-K’s Udhampur

    An 11-year-old boy was killed and his younger sister injured when the wall of an under-construction mud house collapsed in a remote village in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, police said. The accident occurred at Paundal village in the Lathi area when a group of labourers was busy in construction work at Ashok Kumar's mud house, they said.

    All India Congress Committee Treasurer Ajay Maken on Sunday claimed that the number of students appearing for and passing Class XII in Delhi government schools has decreased compared to when his party was in power. During a press conference, Maken said that from 2008-09 to 2013-14, the number of students passing in government schools was rising every year, increasing from 75,974 to 1.47 lakh.

    The sacred portals of the Badrinath temple in Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district will open for devotees at 6 am on May 4. On the occasion of Basant Panchami, the auspicious time for opening the temple was decided after special prayers were offered at the former Tehri royal court in Narendra Nagar.

    After Ganesh Panchang and Chowki pujan, royal priest Acharya Krishna Prasad Uniyal decided the date for opening the doors of the Badrinath temple.
