Blood samples of four suspected coronavirus patients were sent to Jaipur's SMS Medical College for testing on Monday. Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Rohit Kumar Singh said six people, one each from Jaipur, Sikar and Ajmer, and three from Jhalawar had approached the Health Department for screening.
Four of them showed symptoms of coronavirus, he said, adding that they had been admitted to hospitals. The officer further said the Heath Department had screened 4,495 passengers at the Jaipur airport for coronavirus so far.
A fire broke out near the airport in Maharashtra's Solapurcity and quickly spread to its premises on Monday evening before being brought under control,
but no casualty was reported, an official said.
According to the official, dry grass around the irport may have been set on fire by someone though the exact cause is being ascertained.
Once the blaze started, it quickly spread into the airport premises, he said, adding around eight fire tenders ere rushed to the spot.
Two people were shot dead and another was wounded as an unidentified person opened fire on the Texas A&M University-Commerce campus on Monday, the university police said. The incident happened at the Pride Rock Residence Hall, they said in a tweet.
The surviving victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition, the university police department said. The shooter has not been identified yet.
Earlier, the police tweeted that they were investigating a crime scene and asked the campus community to shelter in place. The university later posted a notice on its website that the "precautionary shelter in place recommendations" have been lifted, but Pride Rock and the surrounding areas remain blocked off.
Delhi's public transporter DTC has received the Transport Minister's Road Safety Award 2018-19 for the "lowest" accident rate, DTC Deputy General Manager RS Minhas said on Monday.
A trophy and a cheque of Rs one lakh was presented to Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) Managing Director Manoj Kumar by Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari at a function last week in Delhi , he said.
"DTC has been conferred the Transport Minister's Road Safety Award 2018-19 in the urban category for the lowest rate of accidents," Minhas said.
