    IMD forecasts widespread rains over many parts of north, northeast India for 5 days

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said fairly widespread to widespread rains are very likely over many parts of north and northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next five days. It said a cyclonic circulation lies over eastern Uttar Pradesh and extends up to the mid-tropospheric levels.

    Under the influence of these systems, the IMD said, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is very likely over the northeast and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next five days.

    Religious institutions can reopen from August 23 in Odisha: BMC

    All religious institutions including temples, mosques, churches and others can reopen for the public in the state capital from August 23, according to a notification issued by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

    The BMC decided to allow opening of religious places to the public, with appropriate COVID-19 restrictions based on local assessment of the situation and in consultation with relevant stakeholders

    PM Modi to release next instalment of financial benefit under PM-KISAN scheme today

    Under the PM-KISAN scheme, a financial benefit of Rs 6000 per year is provided to the eligible beneficiary farmer families, payable in three equal four-monthly installments of Rs 2000 each.

    The fund is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries. In this scheme, Samman Rashi of over Rs 1.38 lakh crores has been transferred to farmer families so far.
