An account clerk of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) was allegedly killed by a 'sewadar' at the SGPC office, adjoining the Golden Temple complex here, officials said on Saturday.

According to the officials, SGPC 'sewadar' Sukhbir Singh attacked Darbara Singh, an account clerk at the committee, with a sharp-edged weapon following an altercation over some issue, the officials said.

Three security guards were attacked by some unidentified people at the entry gate of a hospital here on Saturday morning, police said on Saturday. The incident at the Super Speciality Hospital in Kota Medical College, they said.

During routine checking at the entry gate, around 5-6 unidentified men attacked the security guards with knives, another guard, Mahendra Singh said. Three guards -- Shiv Singh, Surendra ParasadSingh and Ramkaran -- got injured in the attack, the police said.

On the rehabilitation and rescue efforts in Kerala in the aftermath of Wayanad landslide, CM Pinarayi Vijayan said, "Rehabilitation must be carried out effectively, with the goal of building an entire township. The rehabilitation project will be completed swiftly. For the Vellarmala School, we will ensure that the children's education is not disrupted and will arrange alternative facilities."

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Keshav Prasad Maurya on Saturday, August 3, criticised Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, accusing his party of promoting hooliganism and protecting criminals instead of upholding good governance and development.

In the recent bomb mail case involving a private school in south Delhi's Greater Kailash area, a 14-year-old student has been identified as the suspect, said police. As per the police, the 14-year-old  sent emails to several schools as he was not in the mood to attend the school. 

The Jharkhand Police reported on Saturday, August 3, that an unidentified assailant shot dead a sub-inspector posted in the Special Branch in Ranchi. The victim has been identified as Anupam Kachhap, a 2018 batch sub-inspector. His body was found on Boreya Road, near the ring road in the Kanke police station area, with a significant bullet wound.

Delhi Police informs that locals promptly rescued a child who fell into a sewer in the Defence Colony area. Police said, the sewer lid was covered with a plyboard, which the 8-year-old boy, stepped on. The plyboard broke, causing him to fall into the sewer. The child was promptly rescued with the help of people and didn’t sustain any injuries.

Search and rescue operation in landslide affected areas in Wayanad, enters 4th day. Speaking of the operation, Lieutenant Colonel Vikas Rana says, "Today also we have the same plan like yesterday, we have divided different zones and teams have left for the zones, scientists and sniffer dogs have also gone along with the teams...locals are supporting us in the search and rescue operations..."
