Bangalore: Bangalore police has closely monitored the CCTV footage of the Corporation Bank ATM kiosk near Badami House where the female bank manager Jyothi was attacked on November 19. After monitoring the footages police came to know that another woman on November 18 had a providential escape from the attacker.
The footage show a woman in her late twenties stepping in. The attacker followed her and was about to pull down the rolling shutters when her husband came to the door.
Police say the husband is seen questioning this man, after which the man slunk away. Police identified him as he was wearing the same clothes the following day when he attacked Jyothi, and had the same bag too.
Police official said that they have not traced the identity of the woman who had a close shave with the the man.
Investigation in Jyothi's case are still going on meanwhile, Jyothi Uday was shifted out of ICU on Thursday.
Bangalore police have announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head, while Andhra Pradesh police have announced a Rs 2-lakh reward.
The police of both states have launched a massive manhunt in Anantapur and Kadapa districts of Andhra Pradesh, besides border areas of Karnataka like Gauribidanur, Pavagada and Bagepalli.
More than 100 policemen are camping in these areas, but they haven't met with any success yet.
