Agartala: The first border ‘haat' or market along Tripura-Bangladesh frontier at Srinagar in South Tripura district, about 140 km from here, will be inaugurated tomorrow, officials said today.
Union Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her Bangladesh counterpart Tofile Ahmed will jointly inaugurate the first border ‘haat' or market along Tripura-Bangladesh border. Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and MP Jiten Chowdhury will also be present on the occasion, Shyamal Dev, senior manager of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) said today.
Sitharaman has sent a letter to the Tripura government giving her consent to inaugurate the border haat on January 13, Dev said.
