Bombay HC allows telecast of The Dirty Picture on Sony

Nagpur, Apr 20: The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court today allowed the telecast of Vidya Balan starrer The Dirty Picture on Sony Entertainment Television with 56 cuts.  The film is slated to be telecast

Nagpur, Apr 20: The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court today allowed the telecast of Vidya Balan starrer The Dirty Picture on Sony Entertainment Television with 56 cuts.

 
The film is slated to be telecast  on  Sunday (April 22).
 
One Praveen Dahat of Nagpur had filed a petition before the Nagpur bench pleading for ban on the telecast of the film on television. The court had issued notices to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and other respondents to reply by today.
 
During the course of hearing today, the bench refused to grant stay on the film's telecast.  
 
On behalf of Sony Entertainment Television, the Censor Board certificate was produced alongwith an affidavit in which it was stated that the film will be telecast on TV with deletion of 56 scenes and dialogues.
