New Delhi, Sept 6:  BJP general secretary Ravi Shankar Prasad today welcomed the arrest of expelled Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh in the cash-for-vote scam, but slammed the arrest of both the whistleblower  former MPs Faggan Singh Kulaste and Mahavir Bhagora.

Reacting to the Delhi court order sending Amar Singh, Bhagora and Kulaste to judicial custody, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, Amar Singh's arrest was long pending, but the court has to find out on whose directions the bribe money of Rs 1 crore was given, and who provided this money.

Prasad said, the Supreme Court had already asked for the source of these funds, but the Delhi Police which is investigating this case is trying to avoid this issue.

The BJP general secretary said, all of this has happened after three years only because of the intervention of the Supreme Court.

“Amar Singh was neither a minister, nor his party was in the government. Police should find out who provided the money to buy the MPs and on whose direction the money was given”, Prasad said.

The BJP leader said that his party MPs Bhagore and Kulaste had done a great national service by exposing the UPA government through this sting, but it was said that the whistleblowers have also been sent to jail.

“Our former MPs will face the law and expose the hamhanded manner in which the Delhi Police carried out this probe”, Prasad said.
