New Delhi: Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley on Sunday described yoga guru Swami Ramdev's demand for single Banking Transaction Tax as attractive, but pointed out that in a federal structure, the states will demand a lion's share out of the proceeds.
The two were taking part in a conference organised by Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) here, where Ramdev went to the extent of even saying that he would give support to the Congress, if it accepted his proposal ofr single window taxation and single tax.
Ramdev wants a single Banking Transaction Tax to replace all direct and indirect taxes.
