Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who will return to TV after a gap of four years as a "pop philosopher" in the reality show 'Bigg Boss 3', is excited with his new stint on the small screen.
"I'm very excited to be part of this show and also for my role as 'Pop Philosopher'. It is unique because I have to decode emotions and comprehend simple philosophies of life," Bachchan said at a press conference in Mumbai.
The 66-year-old star, who is taking the reins of the reality show from actress Shilpa Shetty, will appear on the show twice a week - Friday and Saturday.
Colours's Chief Executive Officer Rajesh Kamat said that Bachchan's entry has raised the bar of the show.
"After having a successful season last year, we wanted to do something more bigger, something which would not only increase our ratings but would also the novelty. It (Bigg Boss 3) will surpass last year's popularity," he said.
Bachchan was last seen on the small screen in 2005 as the host of the popular game show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati II', the Indian version of the international hit-series 'Who wants to be a Millionaire'' on Star Plus. PTI
