Model Viveka Babajee's family, whose statement was recorded by the police in connection with the model's alleged suicide on June 25, has said they would now rely on police's investigation.

"The police have recorded the detailed statement of Viveka's mother Dayawanti Babajee and sisters last evening. We would now rely on the police investigations. If the probe points towards a conspiracy behind Viveka's death, then we would go to court," Dale Bhagwegar, the family's representative said on Saturday .

Viveka (37), a fashion model had allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her fifth floor residence in Continental Towers at suburban Bandra on June 25.  Viveka's mother Dayawanti in her statement to the police has reiterated that Viveka and stock analyst Gautam Vora were in a serious relationship and were planning to marry.

Viveka's family members have also said that she was not suffering from depression.  Two days after the suicide, Vora had approached the sessions court seeking anticipatory bail after he feared he would be arrested on charges of abetting Viveka's suicide.  The court had directed the police not to arrest Vora without giving him 72-hour notice.  Meanwhile, the police have recorded the statement of the florist whom Viveka had asked to send bouquets and ballons to Vora on June 22, 23 and 24 for his birthday on June 26.
