Lucknow: The autopsy of Shailesh Yadav, son of MP Governor who was found dead yesterday under mysterious circumstances, has failed to identify the cause of his death, according to UP Police.
The UP Police revelation comes amid reports that Shailesh died after consuming poisoning. Shailesh was an accused in Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board or Vyapam scam.
“The postmortem report says that cause of death could not be ascertained. Viscera and heart of Shailesh have been preserved," Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yashasvi Yadav said.
Police have maintained that the cause of death seems to be natural. Police had yesterday said that prima facie the death appeared to be due to brain haemorrhage or heart attack.
The viscera samples have been preserved for further investigation.
Even the family members of Shailesh have ruled out any foul play in his death.
Shailesh's elder brother Kamlesh Yadav, who is an Uttar Pradesh Congress member, told reporters, "It is a natural death. The matter will be clear when the final report comes. We don't suspect any foul play."
MP Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, who is ailing, was being taken in an air ambulance from Bhopal to Lucknow to attend the last rites of his son.
50 year old Shailesh Yadav was found dead under mysterious circumstances in his room at the official residence of his father Ram Naresh Yadav, MP Governor and a former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, in Lucknow on Wednesday morning.
A section of media and some Congress leaders have raised suspicion over the death. The Congress has described the death as "unnatural" and demanded a CBI probe into it.
