New Delhi: The Intelligence Bureau has issued an alert that at least 10 Pakistani terrorists have entered Delhi and National Capital Region triggering speculations that they may be planning terror attacks ahead of the Republic Day.
The IB alert has also disclosed that these terrorists entered India via Nepal border and then moved to Faridabad. These men may be searching for a ‘safe' hideout in Ghaziabad, it said, adding that they are also carrying explosives.
Confirming the news, Shiv Hari Meena, SP, City, Ghaziabad, said, “We have received some specific inputs that terrorists have crossed the Nepal border and arrived in Ghaziabad via Faridabad. We have launched search operations at all probable hideouts.”
Reports stated that terrorists amassed explosives from Faridabad before heading for Ghaziabad.
The top cop, while citing a report by the IB, said that 200 constables will be searching the targeted areas including some specific places mentioned in the alert by the IB.
There are also indications that these men have kept explosives hidden somewhere in the city.
A massive search operation is on to trace the hidden explosives and also to identify these men, he added.
