The Park is open daily from 1st November to 30th April. It remains closed from June to September. It is partially open in the months of October and May.
The Brahmaputra River bursts its banks during the monsoons which results in flooding the low-lying grasslands and causing animals to migrate from one area to another within the Kaziranga National Park.
One can reach Kaziranga through Guwahati which is known as the gateway of the Northeast India. It is located at 217 kms from the park serves as the nearest airport to reach Kaziranga. The other airport is located at Jorhat, 97 kms from Kaziranga.
The nearest railway station is at the distance of 75 kms from the Kaziranga National Park in Furkating. Kohara, located on National Highway -37 is the main gate to reach the Kaziranga National Park.
