Guwahati: Various Adivasi groups of Assam have given a call for a 12-hour bandh today in protest against the killing of over 70 people by the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Sangbijit group).
All Assam Tea Tribes Student Association, Adivasi Chhatra Sangathan, Akhil Assam Bhojpuri Parishad, All Assam Minority Students' Union (AAMSU) are among the groups who have given the call for today's bandh.
According to reports available, protestors set a truck on fire in Dibrugarh expressing their anger against the recent massacre.
NDFB (S) militants killed over 70 people in the Sonitpur, Kokrajhar and Chirang districts of Assam on Tuesday.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, accompanied by Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, held a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and other senior state officials on Wednesday and assured that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) will probe the case thoroughly.
The central government has also assured to provide Assam with additional companies of security forces.
