At least 6 people were killed, while 30 others were injured after a bus fell into a ditch in Assam on Tuesday. The incident was reported from Assam's Goalpara district, where a speeding bus fell into a ditch while travelling. According to reports, the bus was on its way to Guwahati from Dhubri at the time of the accident.
While moving, the bus hit a roadside electric post, overturned and fell into the ditch. Five people were killed on the spot in the incident, while one passenger died sometime later.
Police and Army personnel travelling in a van started rescuing the passengers soon after the incident.
All seriously injured passengers were taken to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital, while others were admitted to the Goalpara Civil Hospital.
