Ghaziabad: As part of crackdown on those violating traffic rules, the Ghaziabad Traffic Police on Sunday came out strictly against women riding two-wheelers without helmets in the city.
In the course of prosecuting women for violating the traffic rules, a traffic ASI set an example by issuing challan against his own wife for not wearing helmet.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Madhusudan Singh stooped his wife Reena Singh, who was on a scooty, and issued challan for not wearing a helmet while riding.
Reena repeatedly pleaded that she will never make the same mistake again but this went into vain.
The Ghaziabad Traffic Police undertook a drive against traffic violators at Chaudhary Mod, Purana Bus Adda, Naya Bus Adda, Ghanta Ghar, Raj Nagar, Kavi Nagar and Vijay Nagar.
Nearly 40 vehicles were challaned during the drive.
