Jodhpur: With a policeman giving him company, inside a room of Rajasthan Armed Police guest house, Asaram Bapu, the godman caught in the vortex of a sexual assault charge levelled by a minor, spent a restless night on Sunday.
Asaram was brought to the five-roomed guesthouse at 7:45 pm, and he told policemen that he wanted rest.
Because of vrat(fasting) Asaram refused to have food, but agreed to have fruits and water.
He had a slice of apple, and wanted holy water in place of normal water.
Sitting on a mat, he told the accompanying policeman to always have meals on time and spend some time on meditation.
"Ishwar ki bhakti karogey toh meri tarah saare dukhon ko paar kar logey"(If you pray to God, you will overcome all miseries like me), the self-styled godman said.
At about 1 am Asaram suddenly woke up and began walking inside the room restlessly.
At around 4 am, he sat on meditation and performed light yoga.
Asaram may be sent to judicial custody in Jodhpur Central jail today, This is the same jail where actor Salman Khan spent time in the blackbuck hunting case.
