The judge then said, records prior to school admission are not sought. The board certificate is considered sufficient.
The judge also asked Jethamalani, whether he was arguing for the case trial or for the bail application." Please state the basis for bail application", she said.
Jethmalani then said, the girl's relatives had insisted on jaap, mantrochhar (singing of hymns) and blessings. Such sadhaks come to ashram and do spiritual meditation. The victim and her relatives also came on their own to Manai.
The judge then asked: Do you think its a normal practice to call schoolgirls to ashram?
Jethmalani then put forth arguments saying Asaram was a renowned spiritual guru, he had cooperated in the investigation and had no put pressure on witnesses.
Jethmalani who appeared as the defence counsel to argue on the bail plea of Asaram, raised the same points as those in the district and sessions court during the first bail application.
He disputed the FIR, the scene of crime and the age of the girl and termed the entire case as fabricated.
