Jammu, July 29: Army today sent a group of 22 children from borders areas of Jammu and Kashmir to Mumbai on an educational tour under ‘Operation Sadbhavana'.

The tour was flagged off by General Officer Commanding, Crossed Swords Division, Maj Gen Rustam Patnaik, a defence spokesman said.

Maj Gen Patnaik told the students, “The area you are about to visit is a commercial and educational hub of India.”

“I am sure this tour will give you an insight into the rich traditions, customs and culture of the country,” he said.

The students would return to Akhnoor from the 10-day tour on August 8.

During the tour, the children will visit Naval Dockyard (INS Mumbai), Madh Fort, Elephanta caves, Hotel Taj, Gateway of India, Marine Drive, Bandra-Worli Sea link, among others, and also interact with senior government functionaries, he said.
