New Delhi: A day after the Kashmir region was rocked by a series of terror attacks, Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag will today visit Jammu and Kashmir to take first hand stock of the security situation in the state.
The state was yesterday hit by four terror attacks ahead of the third phase polling scheduled for December 9, claiming the lives of 11 security personnel including a Lt Colonel.
The Army Chief will also pay tribute to jawans martyred in yesterday's gunfight in Uri.
This would be Army Chief's third visit to militancy-hit state in less than two weeks while Army officials remained tight-lipped about his schedule.
He will be briefed by the Army top brass in the Northern Command about situation as well as security scenario in the state that is in the midst of assembly elections.
Meanwhile, a red alert was sounded in Delhi yesterday after intelligence inputs of a possible terror strike.
