Panaji: International acclaimed music composer AR Rahman on Tuesday said that he identified with Aamir Khan's statement on 'intolerance' in India saying he too had faced religious resistance in recent past over his decision to compose the music of 'Muhammad: The Messenger of God'.

The Oscar and Grammy winner said that the way certain intelligentsia of the country is protesting against the growing state of intolerance in the country is 'poetic' as it is non-violent in nature.

"I have gone through something similar sometime ago. And I then also mentioned that nothing should be violent. Everything should be done classily and any kind of revolt should be classy. I think it is very poetic what people are doing rather than hitting each other," he said.
