Hyderabad, Jul 23: As the capital Hyderabad recorded 14.1 mm rain on Monday till 830 pm, five helicopters are being operated in Karimnagar district on for relief and rescue operations.
Andhra Pradesh is presently reeling under floods. Two helicopters have reached Bhadrachalam and are making sorties for relief operations.
One helicopter is being sent to Rajahmundry today.In addition to the seven NDRF teams which are already in place in six districts, one additional team is being sent to Narasapur in West Godavari.
Ten NDRF teams consisting of 414 rescuers and 60 boats and life-saving people have been deployed in Bhadrachalam, East and West Godavari, Adilabad and Karimnagar.
The Indian metorological department has forecasted heavy to very heavy rain in isolated places of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam East Godavari, West Godavari of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warrangal and Khammam of Telangana during the next 48 hours.
Heavy rain will occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of Telangana and coastal AP during the same period.
