Mumbai, Dec 30: Anna Hazare should introspect why and due to whom his fast for a strong Lokpal bill at the MMRDA ground here, fizzled out, Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray said today.
“Even his favourite media turned against him and are giving sensational news on how the agitation turned out to be a flop show,” Thackeray said, in an editorial in party mouthpiece ‘Saamana'.
There was no need for Hazare to sit on fast when Parliament was debating the Lokpal Bill, the Sena patriarch said.
“The people leading movements on social issues should have enormous patience and not lose their cool,” he said.
The one who leads the agitation should mobilise people and prepare them for the agitation through a well planned strategy, Thackeray said.
Advising the anti-graft crusader and his team, Thackeray said, “Care should be taken to see that the country's enemies do not take advantage of instability and anarchy created during the agitation.”
“People have understood that there is politics and war of words over the issue of corruption. People have also not liked the way Team Anna is making the septuagenarian sit on fast and threatening the people's representatives,” he said.
“The drama of Jantar Mantar and Ramlila did not work in Mumbai as the people of Maharashtra do not like such dramas,” the Sena supremo said.
