Bhopal, Sept 16: The Bhopal police has taken possession of the diary which dismissed IAF Flying Officer Anjali Gupta used to write regularly.
In her diary, Anjali Gupta has revealed how she fell headlong in love, but in turn was sexually exploited by Group Captain Amit Gupta.
The diary reveals, Amit had divorced his wife in April this year but had kept it a secret from Anjali, who ultimately took the extreme step of committing suicide.
The diary reveals how Anjali was hesitant in having sexual relations with a married man like Amit, but the latter used to cadge her for "adventures".
In her diary, Anjali Gupta wrote how she was initially hesitant and felt it was dangerous to break security rules in the IAF Officers' Mess in Bangalore and indulge in clandestine rendezvous at night.
"Amit used to take me to his bachelor accomodation at night and leave me early at dawn, though I didn't like going there because a guy named Gurvinder had seen us together several times", wrote Anjali in her diary.
Anjali reveals how the two then decided to meet only at the mess, and Amit arranged to remove the cctv security cameras at the parking adjoining the mess. Amit used to consider this as adventurous, while I considered this to be too lowly, wrote Anjali.
Amit was in charge of admin and security and used to tell me that if these actions came to notice, I could be sacked, but he always sidestepped my persistent requests for marriage, wrote Anjali.
"It was a case of blind love. Anjali blindly accepted whatever Amit told her", says Rajesh Bhadoria, SP City, Bhopal.
The diary however does not reveal whether Anjali had levelled allegations of sexual harassment against senior IAF officials at the instance of Amit, says Bhadoria.
Amit used to be very careful about Anjali's diary writing, and read her diary occasionally, says Bhadoria.
For the last one and a half years, Anjali had been feeling that she was now in an endless tunnel, and the man she blindly loved had been using her and had destroyed her life and career, says Bhadoria, based on his reading of the diary.
On March 3, 2010, Anjali wrote: "Amit does not think at all about our relationship or my career. He is very clever. Though he always says, you try to understand my compulsions, but because of him, all my friends have left and I am alone."
Bhadoria says, Amit divorced his wife on April 29, 2011, but kept this a secret from Anjali.
Anjali's family have handed over all documents relating to her life to Bhopal police to help the investigation that is in progress.
