Andhra govt organises workshop on ITIR

Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government yesterday organised a workshop on the proposed Hyderabad Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR), which was attended by various state agencies, IT and ITeS companies and other stake-olders.





State IT Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah was the chief guest at the gathering, wherein the concerned departments made presentations on implementing the project expeditiously, sources said.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on September 20 had okayed the proposal for setting up of the AP ITIR in an area of 202 sq km in and around Hyderabad Metropolitan Area.

The workshop was attended by more than 150 participants, including government agencies, STPI, representatives from IT/ITES/EHM/Animation Gaming Industry, developers, IT SEZs, IT Infrastructure providers, industry associations such CII, NASSCOM, ITsAP among others.

The ITIR is expected to attract a total investment of about Rs 2,19,440 crore of which the IT/ITES sector is expected to attract investments of Rs 1,18,355 crore and the EHM sector would attract investment of Rs 1,01,085 crore, official sources said.
