Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and BJP President Amit Shah will visit Sri  Anandpur Sahib tomorrow to participate in 350th anniversary celebrations of the historic town. Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khatter will also attend the function.

Kamal Sharma, President of Punjab BJP, made this announcement in Chandigarh  today.

"I had met Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh in New Delhi today and both the leaders have confirmed their visit. I was also in touch with Khattar, who too has confirmed that he would be present at the function on June 19,” Sharma said.  

A series of programmes are bring organized in the holy town from June 16 with the big event slated for June 19.  

An 81 feet high “Khanda” (the symbol of Khalsa Panth) worth Rs 22 lakhs is being placed in the Panj Pyara Park of the city.  A 39 feet high platform has been erected for placing the “Khanda”.

Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee has turned the holy city into a white city. A special train will also depart tonight for the holy city from Safdarjung Railway Station, Delhi for this grand event.

The city has organised “langar” at 105 different stalls for the visiting devotees.

Out of these 105 stalls, around 90 stalls have been set up by the Shiromani Gurudwara Management Committee. 15 special booths have been arranged to serve the special food to the devotees.  

The devotees will be served with a variety of food items in these stalls varying from burger to ‘maalpua' to pizza. To cope with  the sweltering heat of summer , cold drinks, ‘kulfi', ‘kheer' and ‘jaljeera' will also be served in these booths.

The Punjab government has also declared 19th June a public holiday.
